Hans Kohler [Bio], Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) Northeast Regional Coordinator, and Jim Dunn [Bio], CEO of the Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC), reviewed the missions of the FLC and the CTC.

Host Lab Overview

Lynn Murray [Bio], Chief of Communications and Technology Outreach, Volpe National Transportation Center, provided an overview of the tech transfer program at Volpe.

Funding, Resources, and Partnering Mechanisms

Moderator Hans Kohler [Bio], lead the panel members Mike Pratt [Bio], Boston University; Tim Wittig [Bio], GEO Systems; Carmine Spinelli [Bio], InSitech; Lee Greenberg [Bio], Benet Laboratories; and Nancy Norton [Bio], U.S. Army CECOM in a panel discussion on where to go for funding, what resources exist, and the different types of partnering mechanisms.

Nenette Day [Bio], Federal Bureau of Investigation, talked about cyber crime trends and methods, with a focus on social engineering and the emotional tactics being used.

You Have the Money - Now What?

Ron Barks [Bio], Ronald E. Barks Associates, provided a no-nonsense presentation on what to do now that you have funding.

3:15 p.m.

Regional Lab Focus on Homeland Security

Lewis Meixler [Bio], Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory; Lynn Murray [Bio], Volpe National Transportation Center; Robert Braun [Bio], U.S. Army ARDEC Enterprise Management; and Isabel Fisenne [Bio], DHS Environmental Measurements Laboratory provided an update on their labs' initiatives regarding homeland security.
