Welcome to the spring/summer 2006 issue of FLC Northeast News. It was great to see so many of you in Minneapolis for the national meeting. This year’s meeting proved to be a very successful one for the Northeast Region, as we received five FLC awards. In addition, thanks to those who attended our breakout meeting. I was really impressed with the give and take of ideas and your enthusiasm for the milestones we have mapped out for the upcoming year. I left Minneapolis feeling that the Northeast Region is poised to have a year that will exceed our expectations.

As you will see in the following articles, our member laboratories share that enthusiasm and dedication in bringing their technologies from the laboratory to the world at large. It is important to recognize our best and brightest and, to that end, I congratulate and wish the best of luck to the nominees for the 2006 Northeast Regional Awards.

In a couple of months we will be gathering in Rome, N.Y., for our annual meeting. This year’s agenda is filled with topics, presentations and facility tours that will address the nuts and bolts of successfully transferring technologies. No meeting is complete without some fun activities, and I think you will like what we have lined up when you read the meeting preview.

As always, the Northeast Region is only as strong as the participation of its members.
