Welcome to the Summer 2005 issue of the FLC Northeast Region News. As you will see in the following articles, our laboratories are working tirelessly with their partners to transfer technologies—with successful results. Technology transfer is a key element in maintaining the strength of our nation’s economy, and I am pleased that laboratories in the Northeast Region are making such a large impact in this area.

This is an exciting time for our region. In a matter of weeks we will gather in Albany, New York for our annual meeting. I am looking forward to the many informative topics that will be presented, as well as having an opportunity to catch up on recent happenings. I hope the preview of the meeting schedule in this issue will inspire you to attend.

As always, the Northeast Region is only as strong as the participation of its members.
