| Rome Laboratory Technology Undergoing Flight Testing
Technology designed at the Air Force Research Laboratory-Rome (AFRL) to preempt catastrophic aircraft system failures by detecting wiring problems before they can cause a failure is currently undergoing a yearlong flight test using a Navy F/A-1 8 aircraft. In addition to making aircraft safer, the technology should also significantly reduce aircraft maintenance costs due to better detection of cable and wiring faults. Read more

FAA Center in Tech Transfer Partnership with Rowan University
The FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center awarded a contract to Rowan University of Glassboro, N.J., to provide clinical project support on research and development projects and to transfer technologies developed at the Technical Center to the commercial market. The one-year contract has an additional one-year option. Read more
Picatinny Center Named “Top Quality Organization” The Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) was recently honored with the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Performance Excellence—Silver Level. The award, which is the second-highest state designation for quality, recognized the Picatinny Arsenal-based ARDEC for its leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement analysis, and knowledge management.
